Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Joey, a sweet pup with an incredible story of resilience. Joey and his four siblings arrived at WCAC scared, unsocialized, and in need of a lot of love. To them, people were terrifying, but thanks to the kindness and dedication of the community, Joey has made amazing progress. He’s now a gentle, good-tempered pup who gets along great with dogs, cats, and kids.
Joey is ready to begin his next chapter with optimism and a wagging tail! We believe he may be a collie mix. Please note that the listed adoption fee does not include the cost of neutering or bringing him up to date on vaccinations.
If you have any questions or would like more information, please contact Animal Control at 618-327-9471 or reach out through our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100064739284772. Joey is ready for a loving home—could it be yours?

More about this shelter
At Washington County IL Animal Control, our mission is to rescue stray animals, rehome unwanted dogs and cats, reduce feral cat populations using TNR programs, and find kind and loving homes for all needy pets. We are a team of compassionate, professional, and determined individuals who are committed to improving the lives of animals in our community.
We do our very best to match pets with their forever family. Interested adopters are welcomed into our facility to meet the animals. One on one meetings are held in a safe, comfortable environment for the animals. Prior to adopting any pets out, we do require a meeting between current pets and the potential adoptee. Paperwork can be completed inside. Upon signature of paperwork, Nashville Animal Clinic is contacted to set an appointment for the new pet. They are then transferred for the following care as needed: Spay/neuter, microchipping, vaccine updates. After the adopter has paid for the performed medical care, they may take their new family member home.
Washington County Animal Control is located in Nashville Illinois. We scan all animals for a chip and do our best to locate their owners. If no one has come forward within the holding period, the animal will be put up for adoption.
