My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Paw Paw Walter, affectionately known as PPW, the charming senior dog with three names! This cool 10-year-old pup has spent years roaming the rural roads of West Virginia, earning the love and admiration of many in the community, yet he never found a forever home. Thankfully, his journey took a wonderful turn when he joined One Love One Animal Rescue, thanks to the collective efforts of those who wanted to see him safely off the dirt roads and into a loving environment.

Paw Paw Walter has faced his share of challenges, but his spirit remains unbroken. His infectious smile and joy for life shine through every time he meets new friends—both human and canine. He is house and crate trained, making him a delightful companion for leisurely strolls or cozy evenings at home. If you're looking to add a sweet and gentle soul to your family, Paw Paw Walter is ready to bring joy and love into your life. To adopt this lovable senior, please fill out an application at oneloveanimalrescue.org. Give Paw Paw Walter the chance he deserves to enjoy his golden years in a forever home!

More about this rescue

The Mission of One Love Animal Rescue is to rescue homeless animals, nurture them through foster care, and place them in permanent loving homes. We are passionate animal advocates who value the lives of these disadvantaged animals and recognize their enormous potential to be transformed into healthy and happy family pets. One Love promotes responsible pet ownership and encourages others in our community to be kind to all animals, to reduce pet overpopulation, and join us in our mission to improve the outcomes of homeless animals.

We are a 100% volunteer non-profit, so 100% of all donations go directly into supporting our mission. We rescue dogs and cats of all breeds, sizes, ages and medical conditions from shelters locally and out-of-state, where chances of adoption are low. We also take in owner-surrenders. All pets are fully vetted - basic and beyond - prior to adoption.
