***Meet the Super Sweet Sky!!***
Sky has been at the shelter since early September. He loves affection and is very smart! This highly treat motivated pup is eager to show off his tricks of "sit" and "shake," and can't wait for you to teach him more tricks! He has been in foster for a few weeks now, so we have gotten some great information on how he would be in a home!
A few notes from Sky's wonderful foster mom!
"Sky is a star in my book! I've been fostering this affectionate and handsome five-and-a-half-year-old pup for a few weeks, and he's truly the perfect companion.
Friendly & Outgoing: Sky adores greeting both friends and strangers, often earning "What a sweet boy! compliments. His exuberance, all-over wiggles, and thumping tail bring smiles to everyone. While he's excited to meet people, he's curious but mostly unreactive when he sees other dogs on walks.
Leash Pro: Sky walks beautifully without pulling, though he likes to pause frequently to take in all the scents around him.
Great Appetite & Treat-Motivated: Sky knows a few basic commands and responds to his name. He's treat-motivated, so he's ready to learn even more!
Perfect Indoor Companion: Sky is a medium-energy dog who enjoys long walks and playtime outside but generally prefers relaxing indoors over exploring the backyard solo.
Crate-Trained & Easygoing: Sky goes into his crate without a fuss and has stayed there comfortably for five or six hours. He even handled a full day in the crate with a mid-day walk and lunch from a dog sitter.
House-Trained & Trustworthy: I've left him uncrated while running errands, and he's been a perfect gentleman-no accidents and no mischief!
Balanced Energy & Playful Spirit: He's moderately playful, showing some interest in toys, but he especially enjoys chew toys and treats!
Sound Sleeper: Sky settles down on a dog bed or the sofa and sleeps through the night.
Sky's easygoing, affectionate nature makes him an ideal companion for anyone looking for a sweet, low-maintenance buddy."
Sky has had positive interactions with other dogs. He is a bit dominant, so would likely do best with a more submissive or laid back dog. As always, we strongly recommend bringing any resident dogs for a meet and greet to make sure it's a good match. If bringing a resident dog for a meet and greet, please bring proof of DHPP, rabies, and bordatella vaccines.
To meet Sky, come to Guilford County Animal Services from 12-4 any day but Tuesday!
