Here's what the humans have to say about me:
River is a retired breeding dog ready to enjoy life as a family pet, relaxing on a couch and getting lots of attention. Like many Beagles, she enjoys being outside and loves to put her nose to the ground. She is very gentle and affectionate and her tail is always wagging. She has lived most of her life outdoors, but a nice foster family had her in their home for a few days and reported that she did very well being inside. Our vet estimates her age to be 7 or 8 years old. She has a lot of love to give to a lucky family. She is fun, sweet, and so easy. If you are looking for a loving companion who doesn't need a lot of exercise, she just might be the dog for you.
If you are interested in adopting a dog, please fill out our dog adoption application here: http://medfieldshelter.com/adopt. Our adoption fee for dogs ages 7 months â 7 years is $500. Dogs 8 years and up are $250. Every dog we place is vaccinated, wormed, treated for ticks/fleas, and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. We send each dog home with a collar and leash.
With very few exceptions, dogs are happiest and the most well-behaved when they receive daily exercise and ongoing training, so we always prefer to place our dogs with families who are willing to make a commitment to both.
All adoption meetings are by appointment only as we only have two employees. Our manager or one of our volunteers will be happy to set up an appointment for you to come meet the pets, but please fill out the adoption application first.
