Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tank is an absolute doll of a dog that is just a year old and that is so eager to get right back into a great home to grow up in. Tank is with us due to his owner moving and being unable to bring him along. When Tank meets you, he looks at you with big eyes like he doesn't know what to make of you. Fear not! He's a big baby that's a pile of mushy-tail-wagging sweetness! Tank is like an innocent puppy that is just so happy to have you pay attention to him, pet him, and throw a ball for him. He's mild-mannered and very well behaved too, and he's had training. Tank will offer you a pawshake in friendship, he sits when asked and takes treats gently. Make sure they're not poultry-based treats though because he has an allergy to that and will need his skin looked after due to previous allergies. Tank grew up with kids and is fine with them, and he likes other dogs that are not dominant. He's going to bring lots of joy to the good family that welcomes him home! We require a completed adoption application which can be obtained at our facility, or from our website: www.ahscares.org. We also require proof of home ownership if you own, or a copy of a lease stating that pets are allowed with no restrictions if you rent. We require vet records for any pets owned in the last five years as well. Our adoption fees vary based on age, breed, etc. Please call our facility for exact fee 609-693-1900.

The Associated Humane Societies rescues stray and homeless animals, both domestic and wildlife, providing quality care and sanctuary until loving homes can be found. As a community-based organization, we provide low-cost veterinary care and humane education to promote responsible pet guardianship throughout New Jersey.

For over a century we have offered a haven to abused and neglected animals. Founded in 1906, AHS is the largest animal sheltering system in New Jersey, operating three shelters located in Newark, Forked River, and Tinton Falls. Our Forked River facility also includes Popcorn Park. Established in 1977, Popcorn Park is a sanctuary for abandoned, injured, ill, exploited, abused or elderly wildlife, exotic and farm animals, and birds.

The Society is a not for profit, 501(c)3 organization and we take pride in our devotion to the thousands of animals that come through our doors looking for a better life.
