Jay is a sweet 2-year-old cattle dog with a gentle spirit. He might be a bit shy in his kennel, but once he’s outside, his true personality shines! Initially reserved, he warms up quickly and is ready to explore the world around him.

Jay loves sniffing and discovering new sights and smells, making walks an enjoyable adventure. He walks well on a leash and is attentive and motivated when it comes to training, especially if treats are involved! He is neutral and appropriate with other dogs and had met multiple dogs through the fence, but you should bring any dogs you have to meet him to make sure they are a good match. Volunteers have found that he enjoys gentle petting and a good booty scratch.
