My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sad senior dogs just break our hearts a little bit harder. Zendele is the saddest girl. She owner searches and paces back and forth. Zendele had no interest in toys or treats but she did allow us to try to comfort her with some pets. Zendele might not get the home she knows back, but we can find her a new home to love her in her golden years.

Came in as a stray on 8/23/24.
Found near 7700 S South Shore Dr, Chicago

Email visitcacc@cityofchicago.org for more information.

The building is open 12-7 daily and adoptions end one hour before closing. All visitors 18 and older must have a government issued ID.

All household members should be present to meet dogs (especially those under 18 and any decision-makers). We recommend and can arrange dog to dog meet and greets for your current dog to meet a potential dog sibling at the shelter. You will need to show proof of up to date rabies vaccination for your dog or dogs.

Slow, cautious, and appropriate introductions are recommended after you allow time for decompression for the shelter dog.
