Greetings! I'm Sir Richard, a regal peacock looking for a new place to strut my stuff. I'm as majestic as they come, with a vibrant plumage that's sure to catch your eye. I thrive in spacious outdoor environments where I can spread my wings and explore. I'll need a secure area to roam and plenty of perches to show off my feathers. With the right care and space, I'll be a stunning addition to your home or farm. If you're looking for a noble bird to add beauty to your life, I'm your guy!
Peacock care requires special attention to their unique needs. These beautiful birds thrive best in a large, secure outdoor space where they can roam freely, as they are natural foragers. A fenced yard or aviary with plenty of room is ideal. Peacocks also enjoy perching, so providing high, sturdy perches will make them feel at home. Peacocks need a diet rich in grains, seeds, fruits, and vegetables, along with specialized peafowl feed for balanced nutrition. Fresh water should always be available. While generally hardy, peacocks do best in a temperate climate. During colder months, they'll need shelter to stay warm and dry. Peafowl can be shy at first but can become social with time and consistency. If you're considering adopting one of these majestic birds, make sure you have the space, time, and commitment they need to thrive!

More about this shelter
Kitsap Humane Society is a private, nonprofit animal shelter. We rescue and rehome over 6000 pets each year. Every dog or cat leaves our shelter spayed or neutered and with complete vaccines and a microchip. We have been caring for animals in need since 1908 and envision a time when all adoptable pets have loving homes.
We are extremely proud of our exceptionally high “lives saved” rate of over 96%. Through our active adoption, behavior, foster, transfer, and veterinary programs, we are able to rehome every adoptable animal that enters our facility. No animal is ever euthanized for lack of space.
In addition to caring for and adopting animals, we also provide spay/neuter services to low income residents of Kitsap County, and provide Animal Rescue and Enforcement services to our surrounding municipalities.
