My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

That gorgeous face belongs to none other than Penny. Great with kids, amazing manners, such a gentle and sweet girl, and a good time player with other dogs, Penny is one of a kind in both her beauty and her charm. Penny loves fetch, treats and snuggles!

We suspect Penny to be an American Bulldog, American Staffordshire Terrier mix, but she is a rescue, so her exact age and breed are unknown to us and cannot be guaranteed. This beautiful girl is estimated to be around 1 year old, and weighs in at 42 pounds, the perfect size for cuddles.

Watch Penny here: https://youtu.be/tuPWlXKhL08?si=Lr8bEIYKFF2UTn_c

Penny is awesome with kids. She’s met kids ranging in age from 3 to 17, and she’s done well with all of them! Watch Penny interact with kids in her video!

Penny is great with other dogs too. She’s been in rescue for some time now, sharing play-yards with other pups. She’s great at sharing toys and affection with her canine companions, and always a good time in play groups! She’s a rough and rowdy player with other dogs, always the life of the doggy play party. Penny would do well in a home with another enthusiastic player to keep her company.

Penny is food-motivated and a gentle treat taker. She knows “sit” and follows direction well, she has so many great qualities. Penny is also endlessly patient for human antics, when we took her “glamour shots” she was very patient, responsive and sweet with us. I cannot guarantee that adopting Penny will make you an Instagram influencer overnight, but it sure will help! This girl is a natural born IG dog!

Penny spent some time lounging in our office while we worked, and oh would she make an excellent work from home companion! This girl loves to snuggle and kiss and play, but she’s very respectful as well! She spent a good portion of our time together lying on our feet, content to be near us but not being pushy for affection.

Penny would do well as a family dog- she has so much patience and sweetness with kids. She would do well with another rowdy canine playmate in the home too. Mostly, though, Penny would like a home with a loving human to snuggle and kiss, and play fetch with.

Penny is such a sweet, gorgeous and fun dog. She’s affectionate, obedient and loyal- what more could you ask for in a pup? She’s perfect! We are willing to test Penny with anything you need us to in order to ensure she’s the perfect match for you! We can make anything happen! Just let us know.

Why adopt from Three Little Pitties?

The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it!

Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be!

It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks:

• 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.)
• A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week)
• One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan
• 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan
• Coupons for a fun visit to Petco
• Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!

We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes.
