My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lily’s story is a testament to resilience and the transformative power of love. Found with her siblings in the hood of a monster truck at an auto repair shop in LA, Lily’s journey began with hardship. Her feral mama, scared away, never returned, leaving Lily and her siblings to face the challenges of life on the streets. Despite the best efforts of her dedicated foster family, Lily was the sole survivor of her litter, losing her sister Daisy and two other siblings to the harsh realities of stray life.

But Lily’s spirit has always been unbreakable. Even in the face of loss, she remained sweet and playful, showing a heart full of love and joy. She welcomes new friends with open paws and has formed a special bond with her favorite feline friend, Pepe. Together, they spend their days playing and enjoying life, reminding us of the difference a caring home can make.

Lily has come into her own, growing into a confident, playful kitten who loves chasing toys and making new friends. After all she’s been through, she’s ready to fill her forever home with love, joy, and a reminder of the importance of giving 'unwanted' pets a second chance.

Young kittens thrive best with a companion, as it supports their emotional and physical development.

Adoption Fee: $125.00

Our adoption fee generally covers everything your new feline friend needs to start their journey with you:

*Spaying or Neutering: Ensuring the well-being of our cats and controlling the pet population.
*Microchipping: A permanent identification method to keep your furry friend safe.
*Vaccinations: Up-to-date vaccines tailored to the specific needs of each cat.
*Fecal Testing and Deworming: A comprehensive approach to intestinal health.
*Viral Testing (FeLV/FIV): Conducted on all adults and most kittens based on their origin.
*Comprehensive Blood Work: For many of our adult cats, ensuring their overall current health.

In addition to all standard treatments outlined above, many of our cats and kittens have received costly treatment for other maladies that result from abandonment or starting life on the streets.

Of course, if you would like to make a larger donation to help cover our care for the homeless cats, we would be delighted. All donations over the adoption fee are tax deductible.

Why Choose Peter Zippi?

At Peter Zippi Memorial Fund, we're not just about adoptions; we're about creating lifelong connections between our feline friends and loving families. Our Adoption Counselors are dedicated to making your adoption experience joyful and memorable.

*We often offer hard-to-place and special needs cats.*

At Peter Zippi, we believe that kittens under 5 months of age thrive best with a feline companion. To ensure their happiness and healthy development, we adopt kittens in pairs or to homes with an age-appropriate resident cat. Growing up with another cat helps kittens learn social skills, provides essential companionship, and encourages active play. We appreciate your understanding and support in giving our kittens the best start in life!

Thank you for considering adopting from Peter Zippi Memorial Fund, where every cat's journey to a forever home begins with support from the community.

More about this rescue

In memory of Peter Zippi, a young man dedicated to the care of animals, The Peter Zippi Memorial Fund For Animals was founded in 1977 by Dr. Alice Villalobos. We have adopted out over 14,000 pets (mostly cats) since then. The fund is run by wonderful volunteers who work tirelessly to help those who can't help themselves. The fund sponsors spay/neuter vouchers to qualified persons, and shelter for and adoptions of lost and homeless animals.
