My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

This young pup is looking for a home preferably with cattledog experience. He was brought home to an elderly couple that didn't realize what breed he is nor how big he would get. While cattledogs are on the smaller side, they are short chunks and not a small breed dog. Combined with their high energy, he was too much for the older couple. He is slowly learning to socialize with other dogs and cats in his foster home. His first friend has been a young female about his size, but he will soon enjoy his foster's larger companions as well. He is ready to enjoy life and learn about everything there is, are you the perfect home for him to do that with?

If you see a dog on our web site, please call us and we will make an appointment for you to meet. We make every effort to match the dogs with their prospective homes. Go to http://spcaofpittsco.rescuegroups.org or spcaofpc.petfinder.com.

More about this rescue

We are a group of dedicated volunteers formed in 2007 to increase adoptions and reduce the kill rate from our local pound. We foster, vet, transfer and love all the dogs that we rescue and make every possible effort to place them in forever loving homes. We also operate a food bank to help keep pets in their homes. We are totally dependent on volunteers and donations from animal lovers like ourselves. We are saving and placing 20-30 dogs a month who would have been euthanized. We need you-Please help us save precious lives.
