My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Biscuit! Biscuit is an approximately nine-year-old senior gentleman, who finds himself in search of a new home to live out his golden years. Biscuit's owner was elderly and could no longer care for him, and her family surrendered Biscuit to the shelter. Biscuit would obviously rather be back with his owner who loved him, but he is an easy-going fella who goes with the flow. Biscuit gets along with everyone he has met so far, both two and four-legged. He is friendly with people and happy to socialize and wag his tail at the other dogs at rescue. He enjoys sniffing in the sunshine, dipping his paws in the play pool, and going on short walks. Biscuit LOVES toys (especially squeakies!) and will happily chase them and then plop down to chew on them. Biscuit has a moderate energy level, especially for his age. He will even run and play with the puppies here and there! We feel Biscuit would fit in well in a variety of different home settings, as he is such an easy-going guy. Email us at chitownrescue@gmail.com to set up a meet and greet with Biscuit! Biscuit is neutered and his adoption fee includes microchip, vaccinations up to date, and Rabies certificate.

More about this rescue

"Chi Town" is short for "Chihuahua Town," which is our nick-name because we found that the majority of animals we were rescuing happened to be Chihuahuas and literally have a little “town” comprised of Chihuahuas! Chihuahuas are one of the most over-bred dogs in Arizona and unfortunately many end up in need of rescue. However, we are not limited to saving just Chihuahas, we do save other breeds dependent on availability of space. Chi Town also specializes in rescuing dogs who require a little extra TLC and are at risk of euthanasia at county shelters. These dogs may not be doing well for a variety of reasons- fear, fear aggression, anxiety, or a medical issue to name a few. These are the dogs that typically have no other outlet and for which time is of the essence . After our dogs are medically cleared and/or their behavioral issues have improved, they are available for adoption.

Please be aware that we do our very best to answer all questions in a timely manner.

We are always seeking to help promote these special Chihuahuas who are too often overlooked in AZ shelters due to the sheer volume of this breed. Please share and like us on Facebook:
