My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Very friendly senior cat available for adoption.

Scooter is a 13 year old spayed female.  She is up to date on her vaccines and has a microchip. She's very friendly, loves to snuggle with you on your pillow, and has a great purr. She's playful, loves catnip, and likes to watch birds out the window.

Scooter's mom had to go into assisted living and Scooter was taken to animal control last fall.  After being adopted into a home with two other cats, it became apparent that she would rather be in a home where she is the only cat.  She is an indoor only cat and cannot be declawed.

Please contact me if you are interested in caring for Scooter for her golden years.

More about this rescue

Red Clay Animal Rescue is a small but powerful force in the collective effort to end pet homelessness and suffering in the Savannah area. We are a licensed nonprofit organization with 501c3 status.

We provide care on a small scale (a few animals at a time) to homeless animals with treatable injuries or illnesses, usually from within the regional shelter system, who would otherwise be euthanized.
These pets are fostered until adoption, or placed with other local rescue organizations.

An additional priority includes facilitation of shelter-to-shelter transfers (from high kill/poor live release rate facilities with no medical care, to facilities with very high successful adoption rates). These transfers very frequently require that the pets receive some medical intervention (sterilization, infectious disease testing, vaccinations) before transfer.

We also use our funds to donate to other rescue groups in dire need, and to shelter/animal control facilities with little or no resources when they need help.

100% of donations go to help animals in need.
