Meet the Pet
This helps The Rescue Crew with pet care costs.
Our wonderful boy Ryder has never known the comfort of a home of his own, and he urgently needs your help. Ryder’s journey began in an alley in St. Paul, where he was found trembling on September 1, 2023, when he was barely two months old. Diagnosed with parvo, a potentially life-threatening disease for puppies, Ryder was in a dire situation. But The Rescue Crew stepped in to save his life, and now, a year later, he’s ready to find the loving home he’s never had.
Despite everything he’s been through, Ryder is a sweet, smart, and energetic boy. Unfortunately, he faces a few obstacles that make it harder for him to find his forever home.
Obstacle 1: He’s a big dog.
Obstacle 2: He’s a black dog.
Obstacle 3: He’s a Pit Bull-type dog.
These factors shouldn’t matter, but sadly, they often do. Ryder has so much love to give—he just needs someone to give him a chance.
The Rescue Crew has invested in Ryder’s future by placing him in a board and train program, where he’s thrived. Ryder is now crate trained, potty trained, and walks well on a leash. He loves playing with other dogs, though his play style can be a bit physical—he’s a young Pittie mix, after all! But don’t worry—he’s great at taking cues from other dogs and listens well to verbal corrections from people.
Ryder has also shown himself to be a superstar in public, meeting new people with ease and charm. While he’s comfortable around both men and women, he does have a special fondness for the ladies. He also prefers older children in the home.
This resilient boy would do best in a home with a confident dog companion. A fenced yard would be a bonus, but it’s not a dealbreaker as long as he gets plenty of exercise.
Ryder has overcome so much already. All he needs now is someone to give him the love and stability he’s been waiting for.
Who can help this brave, beautiful boy find his forever home?
If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please an Adoption Request Form. This is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about The Rescue Crew adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our Adoption Process page on our official website.
All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives prior to adoption.
The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a physical location where you can stop by to visit the animals - we require the completion of an Adoption Application prior to meeting any of our adoptable pets in foster care. For the most complete information regarding this animal, and all of our adoptable pets, please ensure you are visiting our website directly at www.RescueCrew.org. You can also access the necessary online adoption application here as well. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown.
