Zero is a 1-2 year old Border Collie mix looking for his Jack Skellington! This handsome boy was scooped up from the shelter when his former home realized they weren’t ready for the activity level of the breed. We zoomed over and picked Zero up, quickly realizing how much he looked like everyone’s favorite Nightmare Before Christmas character! Zero weighs around 35 pounds and he has the softest coat in the entire world. We can’t gush about Zero enough, he’s truly incredible! Zero can’t wait to find a family ready to show him the world as he shows off his handsomeness and happiness! If you’re ready for the adventure of a lifetime, bring home our very own Zero today!

Zero is a handsome and happy dude who can’t wait to find his forever home to take on adventures with! Like his fictional counterpart, Zero is the happiest guy in his neighborhood. He is always ready for an adventure, whether to another holiday or to the local park for some zoomies. Zero, like his fellow Border Collies, is super smart and a total foodie. He is happy to chomp on apples, carrots, or any treat you want to share with him. Zero is always ready for a belly rub and is often found splayed on his back as he attempts to give kisses as you scratch him. He is the best companion for anything you have on the agenda. If you’re ready for a movie marathon, Zero is building the pillow fort. Headed to the beach or on a new trail? Zero is preparing the electrolyte bottles! Looking to check out the latest dog-friendly breweries? As long as they have snacks on the menu, Zero is totally in! Zero has been a total joy in his foster home and has truly shown them how to find the joy in everything. It’s hard to believe that a dog this fabulous and handsome can be as loving and wonderful as he is, but he’s shown us that it’s possible for a dog to be the perfect ten! Don’t let this handsome hunk slip by without bringing him home!

Zero starts his morning around 8 AM with a trip outside to potty before he comes inside for a belly rub and a treat! He gets his breakfast at 9 AM and then heads out on his first walk of the day with his foster siblings. He loves hanging out in the yard and spends a few hours every day sniffing every nook and cranny of his backyard. Zero gets a snack in the afternoon and then spends a few hours napping while his foster dad finishes his workday. Around 5 PM, Zero heads out on another walk followed by a long play session in the yard with his foster siblings and his ever-expanding pile of toys. He has his dinner at 6 PM and then gets his zoomies out in the yard. Zero starts to wind down around 8 PM in front of the TV. After one last potty, he goes to bed at 10 PM.

Zero lives with several dogs of varying sizes in his foster home and gets along fabulously with all of them. He loves meeting new people and has even been to several dog-friendly restaurants! He walks well on a leash and is always down to check out a new trail or park. Zero is working on his house training but he is crate trained. Zero would love to find an active family that is looking for a companion to explore all that California has to offer with. This smart cookie will show you that he is as handsome as he is loving, and we know that he will blow you away with how much love he has for you! Don’t let this spooky season pass you by without bringing home a Zero of your very own!

Zero is an option for homes with prior experience with active dogs. Kids in the home should be over the age of 9.

More about this rescue

We are passionate folks who love dogs and love people! We strive to make the most appropriate match between human and canine. Because our dogs live in foster homes we know about their temperament and personality and therefore can help families and individuals decide if the dog is a good match or not. We are excited to help people find the right pooch for them and look forward to meeting great folks and welcoming them into the DPS Family.
