My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
This pet was brought in by a community member.

At SDHS:
This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered. This pet is now ready for their new home!

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Audacity, who has the audacity to know that she will be someone's loyal companion dog soon because that is what she wants and she knows she will be a good companion. Being a loyal and protective companion is her thing. She leans in to be leashed and loves to go on walks with her person. She looks back to her owner often while being walked to make sure she is being a good dog because being your good dog is very important to her. She nicely takes treats from your hand without jumping or grabbing. She is basically a good dog because that is what she wants to be. She is smart - like very smart. She is high energy and needs lots of exercise, including play. Do you have the room and do you want a new best friend? If so, come to our shelter and meet Audacity. Bring a leash so you can go home together if you decide that she is the ONE.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
