If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
Tejon is about 2 years old give or take a few months. He was found on July 27, 2022 in the street and was deemed too big and energetic to be left at the shelter. He needs someone to give him consistent attention and or spend his energy. He has only lived outside so intensive training would be needed to allow him inside as he is very curious and will find anything cloth/shoe like to be a toy. He can be good with other bigger dogs as long as they don't show any aggression. If a dog barks at him, he does become tense and reactive. He isn't good with smaller dogs or animals as he is bad with personal boundaries and will have a prey drive with smaller animals. He is a pretty good walker. He can sit and is very food driven but not aggressive with food or food bowls. I wouldn't recommend him for a family with small kids as he can be a lot and will likely knock them over in excitement or tug on their clothes. He also enjoys water to sit in and drink from. He will put his paws in water bowls
