Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Introducing…Bella!
Bella is an 11 year old, 8 pound female chihuahua looking for a home of her own and a family who will love and be patient with her. Bella was surrendered to CRT when her elderly owner was no longer able to care for her due to health reasons.
Bella is a very smart little lady! She is shy and cautious at first, and likes to be the first to approach and “sniff out” new people. She loves attention once she has a day or two to feel more comfortable in a new environment and with new friends. She can be unfriendly if not given the space she needs. Bella loves to be rubbed and she enjoys being brushed. Her new owner(s) will quickly fall in love with her. She is very active and likes to hang out with her family, but she is not a cuddler. Bella likes her own space. She would benefit from a confident person who can redirect her when needed.
She is house trained (no mishaps in the house!) and leash trained, and enjoys going on walks. She loves to go outside, and a fenced yard area allows her more time to sniff around and enjoy the sunshine. Bella will let you know when she wants to go out and when she wants food. She is healthy and is a good eater! She is very food motivated.
Bella is leash reactive around larger dogs and some people. It appears that she had not been socialized much prior to coming to CRT. In the past 6 months with her foster, she has met a couple of smaller sized neighborhood dogs, and is getting more friendly around them and the owners. She has also gotten comfortable with out of town family visiting, as well as her foster family’s 6 yr old grandson, whom she spends time with while supervised.
Due to Bella’s reactivity, she requires medication/sedation prior to vet visits. She is healthy and has been fully vetted. She is spayed. She is up to date on her vaccinations. Bella will be microchipped prior to adoption. She is heartworm negative and takes monthly heartworm prevention.
Bella’s adoption donation is $250.
If you are interested in the above dog, please do not email us and tell us that you are interested, but submit an adoption application. The link for the application is below.

An application must be submitted and approved before a meet-n-greet can be scheduled.
Your current dogs/cats must be spayed or neutered unless a veterinarian has determined that your current pet(s) should not be fixed due to medical reasons. They must also be up-to-date on shots and on HW preventative.
Reference checks and a home visit are required so our southeast dogs can only be adopted in NC/SC, VA, TN, AL, MD and GA.

We require an adoption application, reference checks and home visit before adoption.
We also require that all current pets be UTD on shots, on HW preventative and spayed/neutered. Adoption fee is $250.00 for Chi's over 1 year of age and $300 for Chi's under 1 year of age. Other adoption listings are priced as is.
We do not set up a meet-n-greet with a dog without an approved application and a completed home visit. The process starts with an application on line and when the application and references have been checked, a home visit is required. After the HV report has been reviewed by our board, a meet-n-greet will be set up.
