Meet Izzie, a young and vibrant soul full of life. She's not just a dog, she's a bundle of joy, energy, and intelligence. Always on her toes, Izzie loves to play and jump around. Her intense excitement is infectious. She's smart too, always eager to learn new tricks. She already knows the sit, come, wait, and go back commands. Izzie's intelligence shines through in her house-trained manners, making her a delight to have around the home, but she needs to resist the urge to lead while on a leash. She weighs 41 pounds and her strength and energy can sometimes be a bit much for other dogs, so she may do best in a home where she can be the star. She loves to play with dogs and is friendly but rough. She might tolerate a cat. Her playful nature makes her a great companion for active children, always ready for a game of fetch or a cuddle session. Despite her high energy, she's a cuddle bug who loves to snuggle up and get cozy. But beware, her love for chewing means your shoes might be at risk! She's a bit noisy, but it's all in good fun. Izzie's enthusiasm is endless. She's NEVER TIRED and always ready for the next adventure. Her favorite activities are car rides, fetch, running, tugging, toys, walks, water, and chase. Pet Adoption Fees
CAP adoption fees include a variety of services - age-appropriate vaccinations, canine heartworm, and feline leukemia tests, spaying/neutering, deworming treatment, microchipping to name a few - the total value of which exceeds $450. These minimal adoption fees cover only part of each animal's stay at our shelter - please help us keep adoption fees low while maintaining the high quality of care for the animals in our charge by donating and/or volunteering.

A second dog or puppy, adopted within 30 days of the first adoption receives a $20 discount.

Military Families - 50% of adoption fees waived for military personnel and veterans. (proof of eligibility required)

CAP is proud to announce that through life-saving adoption and transfer programs and a lot of hard work, we have maintained a placement rate of over 93% for all homeless pets surrendered to our shelter in 2021. In 2021, CAP provided care for 10,260 animals; this includes animals surrendered by the public and transferred in from animal control agencies and rescue groups, animals already in the shelter and foster care program, feral cats trapped/neutered/returned and animals receiving vaccinations and other treatments in our low-cost vaccination clinic, The Cornelius Clinic.
