For Adopt a Pet and the PEDIGREE® brand, October is all about finding homes for dogs in shelters. Adopt this month for a PEDIGREE® Wet Food Pouch and a chance to win a Homecoming-style photo shoot and shelter donation.
If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
Meet Davey, he is an Australian cattle dog mixed we believe with shepherd, approximately 17 months old. We're running out of time for this boy. He's up to date on his vaccinations and not due again until May of '25. He's had some basic training and we can provide material needed to continue the training. We were hoping he'd be a compatible service dog but unfortunately he's a bit more than I can handle. He just needs a firm yet loving hand and I'm not able to provide that. The loving part is easy but try as I might I'm just not firm enough for him. He is very energetic and a bit clumsy as he's a quite leggy. He does well when socializing with other dogs but hasn't been around any on a regular basis since I got him. He does have the tendency to try and heel or guide you to what he wants and is still a bit grabby. I wouldn't recommend having him around small children, because he likes to jump. He's a sweet, loving boy, and very smart.
