Drifter is in the process of being adopted at this time.
May I introduce Drifter. His momma is an 11 lbs chi mix ... daddy unknown, so we are guessing based on current size he will remain under 25 lbs when full grown, as he currently tops out at just under 7 lbs and was born 6/6/24. His coat is currently more of a charcoal color then black but that can change over time.
Drifter has a very sweet personality and is looking for a forever home with a person or family that can keep up with him and work with him on potty and leash training. He has only had direct contact with other small dogs so far. Please no small children under 8 years old and a fenced yard is preferred as active pups need a safe place to run and burn off energy.
He is micro chipped, neutered and current on vaccines, heartworm and flea and tick.

His adoption fee is $ 300 and he is being fostered in Cookeville, TN. Out of state adoptions are $350 plus the cost of transport if not picked up in Tennessee.

First step in our process is to submit an application through our website. They are reviewed and we contact those who could be a good match

Interview
Phone interview to get more information about you, your family and tell you more about the pup(s) you are interested in.

Approve Application
Once we approve an application, we set the status of the pup to "Adoption Pending" and schedule a home visit and meet and greet.

Home Check
We arrange a meet and greet and home visit if within distance. If all goes well we will finalize adoption at the end of this meeting.

Our adoption process starts with submitting an Adoption Application which can be found on our website at www.safehaventn.com. From there you will be contacted by one of our Adoption Coordinators. Our adoption donations are usually $150 for adult dogs and $200 - $300 for puppies - depending on the animal, breed, etc. We expect that our pets will live indoors, and will be adopted to families who have the desire to add another family member to their home. A vet reference is required.
