Beans Beans the magical... dog! Let me tell you, that is exactly what this once in a lifetime find of a dog is... MAGICAL. Bean, or Beanie as her foster loves to call her, is the sweetest, cuddliest, sassiest partner in crime you could imagine despite having a bit of a rough go recently.
When Bean arrived at the ACC she wasn't in the best medical condition. Over her short time there she was declining quickly and the ACC reached out to Every Last One Rescue pleading for a foster to take her in and provide her hospice care. When she arrived at her foster's home we didn't think she'd make it more than a few days, but with some patience, love, and support she began to fight for her life again. Every Last One didn't hesitate in providing the best medical care possible for this resilient girl and over the past month we've been able to diagnose her with mastitis from a recent pregnancy as well as get the infection under control.
Bean loves joining her canine foster brothers on walks, her body is strong enough to start to climb onto the couch and bed for the best nap spots, and she will absolutely tell you when she is ready for her meal! She loves enrichment, is 100% both house trained and pee-pad trained, and is an angel when left alone. She currently is not being crated when left alone (unlike her foster brothers) as the vet recommended letting her be able to stretch her bad leg as much as possible, but curls up in her bed and naps the day away. She's the 'mayor' of the neighborhood, needing to stop and greet every person we pass or laying down until she can say hi. She has a huge love for male presenting humans, but she'll take any love she can get. This sweet girl has practically no teeth and loves to do arm chomps when excited and playful (think Moo-Deng... IYKYK). She loves a crunch treat and eating her meals through enrichment, loves hard toys like bones, and loves to just be loved.
Bean is doing great with her two canine foster brothers but did require slow introductions to trust they wouldn't hurt or bother her. She can get stiff when seeing other dogs on walks and will bark if a dog barks at her. She's easy to redirect and doing excellent with counter-conditioning and should continue training for this behavior.
