My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A GENTLE SWEETHEART:  Approx. 7 years old / Approx. 49 lbs.

Hello, I’m Beatrice!  Mostly Mutts rescued me from animal control and I’m grateful for the love and care that I’m receiving at the shelter. I also got to go for a spend the night with one of the foster families and had a nice time and now I’m in a regular foster home.  I needed a good dental cleaning which I have received thanks to a grant from The Grey Muzzle Organization!  Now, it’s time to find a wonderful home and family of my own!

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and showed positive interest in them.  I wasn’t quite ready to play, but I also didn’t show any aggression.  So, if you have a nice doggie at home, let’s meet! / I was very respectful of the cats in my short break foster home – only approaching when invited.  If you have a dog-friendly kitty, let’s meet and see if we can be pals. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I have a reputation of being a ‘real sweetheart – calm, gentle and sweet’ – that’s me.  I made a great first impression during my shelter bath and have consistently shown my lovely nature ever since.  I’m not super playful or have much interest in toys, but I sure am a loving girl. I’ll be a great companion to a lucky family! / My energy level is 3-5.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: So far, I’ve learned the ‘sit’ and ‘down’ commands with my trainer, and I also demonstrated good leash manners.  Check back soon to see my progress. / My crate manners in the shelter have been good.  In my foster home, I sleep nicely on a doggie bed and don’t need my crate. / I had accidents on the shelter schedule, though my potty habits in my short break and regular foster homes are good.  I likely need to go out a bit more frequently than I was able to on the shelter schedule.  My foster has a doggie door, and I like using it, so that may be what I am used to.

• LIKES/DISLIKES:  I’m a real cuddler and love nothing more than being included, getting all the petting I can and those great butt scratches.  I enjoy walks and like to take an easy stroll, especially in the cooler hours of the day, so let’s take time to ‘smell the roses’.  I’m not a rowdy player, but I do enjoy gentle tussles and being talked to.  I love going for car rides, so I’d be thrilled to go anywhere with you!  / I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, and training.

• MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.  I came in with a little hair loss in my hind quarters which seemed to be from a flea allergy, so please keep me on flea prevention.  I’m also getting some medicated baths for a little while to help my skin and fur.  These can be done in my new home. I have 2 small lipomas in my right armpit that are of no concern, and possible arthritis in my rear knees, so I should stay on a joint supplement daily.

I am looking for a loving home with a great family!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Who We Are:

Mostly Mutts is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization, staffed almost entirely by volunteers!

Our Mission is to help the Unwanted, Abandoned, Abused and Sick animals in our local counties. We fulfill this mission by working closely with County Animal Control Facilities, saving those who are in imminent danger of euthanasia, or those with needs which require specialized vet care that many other groups will not consider: major orthopedic issues, heartworm positive treatment, skin conditions, neglect and abuse

Please visit our website, www.mostlymutts.org for additional information about adopting a new best friend!
