My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ahem, excuse me, may I introduce myself? I’m a shy girl, right around 7 months old so I’m going outside of my comfort zone to talk about myself. My name is Minky, a green-eyed, slender crossbreed. I have spent my entire life outdoors. Last week I moved to WI where everything and everyone is new to me. I love going for walks. You can tell I’m in my “happy place” because I wag my tail and let my ears flop up and down with each step I take. My foster mom knows this, so she takes me on nice long walks every day. I’ve been living in an actual house for a whole week now. I have the softest dog bed in my crate. I sleep all night long without a peep. I haven’t had any accidents either. I’m such a good dog. Houses have lots of noises. Do you agree? Between the humans roaming around, hairdryers, TVs and doors opening and closing, it’s very different from living outside. I’m the bravest of girls when my foster family sits on the floor with treats. I come out of my crate and enjoy the food and their attention. I get along with the other dogs and cats in the house but have only relaxed enough a couple of times to play with them. I’m looking for a patient family who understands it could take me a few months to adjust, settle in, and show you the love you will show me. P.S. black is beautiful and so am I, inside and out. Oh and the most important part is an online application can be found at SandiPaws.org for me, I sure hope someone will come for me soon and show me how wonderful life can be :)

Additional adoption info

A successful adoption depends on the selection of the right pet for your household and your understanding of your responsibility of adopting a rescued animal. Our adoption procedures have been designed to make sure all rescued Sandi Paws pets are placed in an appropriate, loving forever home, and to make sure all adopters find the right fit for their family. Prior to adoption, all dogs and cats will be given all age-appropriate vaccinations, including rabies, kennel cough, parvo and distemper, spaying/neutering, intestinal deworming, heartworm testing/treatment, microchipping, and monthly heartworm medication and flea prevention.

Note: We will adopt pets outside of Wisconsin if we can do necessary background and reference checks and the adopters agree to provide necessary follow up information. Also, the adopting family must agree to travel to pick up the pet and agree to transport them back to Wisconsin if they need to be returned at any time.
