My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.

Just for a moment or two, put yourself in Fendi’s place. You have a raging skin infection. Your hair is falling out in clumps. You have a birth defect that makes people look at you sideways. And you’re all alone because no one wants you. That was her start to life. And she was powerless to change it. But thank God for rescue where every dog gets an opportunity to be loved. Even the ones who aren’t perfect.

But make no mistake, Fendi is a very sweet girl who appreciates even the smallest kindness. Of course she does. Because she’s had so very little of it. But we’re going to do everything we can to change that…starting with building her self confidence. She has zero right now, which is not surprising. But love, patience and understanding can go so very far to build her up. And that’s what she needs.

Her skin is being treated and will heal. The split nose birth defect will always be there. But the good news is that Fendi doesn’t have the cleft palate that usually accompanies it. And the split doesn’t affect her quality of life. Or her ability to be a fantastic best friend. Truth be told, it’s kind of cool looking.

Fendi is a 2-year-old mix of who knows what, but you can bet there’s a bully breed or two in there. Don’t have a weight on her, but she’s bully-sized. I honestly believe Paws in Prison is her best shot at getting a loving home. So, please open your heart and embrace Fendi’s imperfections. Share her picture. Tell her story. So the perfect person will see it and know that Fendi is their perfect dog.

More about this rescue

Adopt-A-Stray was founded in Jan. 2010, by Kelley Prichard. Since then, it has grown to include a few wonderful volunteers who work very hard to help ensure that our pets are place in loving, forever homes. We are based in Alexander, AR, but we list all of our available pets in the northeast. We work with several different transporters to get our babies to their new homes in the northeast once they are adopted. The transporter we use most often Pack Leaders (www.plrdogtransport.com). All pets are given age appropriate vaccinations before they leave. Every pet is seen by our vet prior to transport. If you see a pet listed that interests you, please be sure to read the description thoroughly and inquire to the email address listed. Thank you for considering a rescue dog!
