My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Bo! This Retriever blend weighs 28 lbs and is 8 years old. If you love retrievers but just wish they came in smaller packages, Bo may be the perfect dog for you!

  • General Behavior: Bo is a handsome, sweet boy who is pretty laid back… until it comes time for car rides and walks. Then he turns into a total wiggle butt, ready for an adventure! This easy-going guy is quick to adapt to new situations. He gets along well with his 3 foster siblings and quickly learned the routine in his foster home. After a big day of adventures, Bo will gives soft kisses and will lay next to you on the sofa to watch TV. He prefers to sleep at the bottom of the people bed at night.

  • Likes & Dislikes: Bo loves being near his people. He follows his foster mom around and is in love with his foster dad. He occasionally plays with toys, but prefers to explore the yard, go on walks or car rides.

  • Training: Bo is a smart cookie, or at least he is smart for cookies. Bo is food motivated and will sit for his treats. He is housetrained if let out regularly, walks well on a leash, and generally has good basic manners.

  • Medical: Bo is a healthy boy! He just needs his monthly flea and heartworm preventatives, like any dog.

  • Other Animals: Bo loves other dogs of all sizes. He hasn’t been observed around cats, but his foster thinks he’d be OK with them.

  • Children: Bo hasn’t been observed around children yet, but his foster thinks this gentle guy would probably do well with children of any age.

  • Home: Bo can be vocal while looking out the front window of the house and will bark at passersby, so a single family home is probably best. Bo does not like thunderstorms and will come to you for comfort.

  • Grooming: This short-haired guy should not require much elaborate grooming.

  • Overall: Bo is a great dog for an active individual or family looking for a sweet companion who will enjoy any adventure with you and also relax by your side. He has a delightful, easy-going personality

Has Bo bounded into your heart? Then visit our website www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org where you will find the application to adopt. You’ll be put in contact with the foster family for more information if it’s a potential match. He is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and neutered, and he has just had his teeth cleaned. His adoption donation is $300.

We are a foster-based rescue organization and do not have a facility. We have all events posted on our website each month.

More about this rescue

Poodle and Pooch Rescue is a 501(c)3 non profit organization that saves dogs that truly need help. We rescue the "leftovers" from animal control, the dogs nobody wants because they're older or suffer from neglect, abuse or have a medical need. Their "last" day becomes the first day of their new life. We provide the veterinary care they need, a foster family they love and when they're ready, we adopt them to a family who cherishes them. We do not have a physical shelter because every dog lives with one of our foster families. We are all volunteers so your tax-deductible donation goes directly to help the dogs. We have saved over 5,500 dogs since 2008.
