Please meet our young terrier mix Sarge who was found as a stray in the Sarge Hubbard Park in Yakima, hence his name. He’s guesstimated to be 3 years old but his foster believes him to be closer to 2. He is a Boston Terrier mix who weighs approximately 22 pounds, is up-to-date on all shots, microchipped and neutered.
Obviously, his past isn’t known but it doesn’t matter because this boy is very exuberant, joyful and loving. He wants nothing more than to be near you.
He hasn’t been tested around children but his foster does not believe he would do well with them. He’s very selfish when it comes to his toys and he doesn’t like sharing them. Also, since his favorite thing in the world is his person, he would probably do best being an only dog in the home.
He does play with other dogs but only in a supervised controlled situation with someone that is dog savvy. He must be signed up for basic obedience classes before his adoption is finalized to help him continue working towards reaching his full potential. He loves learning and is very smart and has already learned kennel, sit, wait, stay and leave it. So he already has the basic building blocks he just needs polishing.
