Maizie is a ~3 month old puppy (as of 11/9/24) who arrived at LHS as a three week old baby after being handed to a woman by a stranger at a local Walmart. After the shock wore off, the woman who was given the puppy took her to the shelter for help. Maizie is a sweet girl who likes to play and nap. She loves to be petted, especially belly rubs, and is very affectionate. Maizie is a sun bather and is loving this fall weather combined with warm sunshine! She enjoys playing with her foster sisters in the yard and inside. We believe she would do well with other doggie friends or alone as she is equally comfortable alone as with the other dogs in the home. She loves a good, fuzzy, comfy bed, crinkle toys and chew toys! She’s doing well with potty training. Puppies at this age will require patience and training to become the best pup they can be.

We are requesting a donation of $325 for the adoption which includes her spay, three rounds of puppy vaccines, a rabies vaccine, microchip with registration, dewormer and a single dose of heartworm preventative. We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Adopter will take the puppy to an LHS approved vet to be spayed in December of 2024 per the spay/neuter agreement and in accordance to Chapter 828, Texas Health and Safety Code.
*Due to the high volume of applications and inquires for puppies as well as vetting needs, we will not be able to respond to or consider interest from those outside of the Dallas/Fort Worth Area.
