Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Gauge's whole family was abandoned on a farm when the renters were evicted. His dad, mom, 7 littermates and even his aunt were left behind. The owners of the farm contacted the shelter which is how Gauge came into our care.
Gauge takes after his purebred Presa Canario father and is a big guy. He was adopted to a hobby farm when he was about 4 months old. Gauge was ok with the outside cats there and had a canine pal. Unfortunately, Gauge liked the goats a little too much, especially their tasty ears. He was returned to the shelter, to the relief of the goats.
Gauge settled into shelter life easily. He had dog pals, people to walk him, a big outside yard to hang out in part of the day, and good food. When Gauge was outside in the play area, he would settle on top of a flat topped dog house and watch the world go by. He seemed at ease as he waited for the next chapter in his life. It was a long wait, but finally he was adopted.
Gauge's new owner called a few days after they took him home. They decided that Gauge was too big and strong for them to handle. Gauge is back at the shelter patiently waiting for his next chance at a home. Can you provide that new home?
