Laverne and her sister Shriley are going to do things their way to make their dreams come true. Leaving their jobs at the Milwaukee brewery, they have made their way to New England. They are determined and ready to take the next step out of their unknown past and right into the hearts of a family who will love and provide for them. Laverne is an 8-month-old labrador retriever mix weighing around 40 pounds. She is a growing girl, and it is estimated that she will be a large size gal of over 60 pounds when she is fully grown.
She is a bit shy and will need a moment or two to warm up, but she loves people and is super gentle. Laverne is hopeful and certain that she will find new friends just like she had with Lenny and Squiggy. She enjoys the company of other dogs and children and when not hanging around the Pizza Bowl she can be found exploring the outdoors and being adventurous. She has not had the opportunity to meet a cat since coming into rescue so her take on a feline companion remains an unknown. She does have a medium energy level, and she would do well in a fairly active family that will allow her many opportunities to play, explore and hang out with her family and soak up attention.
Love is front and center when it comes to Laverne. Along with that is determination and she is not turning her back on learning her house, crate and leash training as all three are in progress. Learning the ropes is part of life for any house canine companion. Laverne will need her family to guide her along the way and help her to be a success that we know she will be.
Making the perfect match is what Laverne dreams of. She is trading in her signature monogram shirt and looking to wear a name tag that pairs her with her forever family.
The adoption fee for Laverne is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue, and transport fees.
