HOW TO ADOPT: This dog is currently spending time in a foster home. To schedule a time to meet this dog, please contact ARL-Adoption@arl-iowa.org.
---
- Likes to explore new places and say hi to everyone he meets
- Enjoys car rides and sits in his own little booster seat
- Loves going on walks and does best with a harness
- Happy to nap on the couch at night with his people
- Appears to be housebroken, just remember any dog may take time to adjust to a new schedule and routine
- Good at going into his crate and will settle after a few minutes
- Generally has done well with another dog in his foster home, but took a little bit to figure out how to play together; may do best with a slow introduction to other dogs (dog intro required)
- Has gotten really excited when seeing cats through a baby gate in his foster home, so may do best with no cats or a slow introduction to cats in the home
All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)
The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label.
