My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Hotch: The Sweetest Feline with a Heart Full of Love!

Hotch is a charming and affectionate 4 year old male cat looking for a special home where he can receive the love and care he deserves. Despite having FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), Hotch's sweet nature and loving personality shine through, making him a truly special companion.

What Makes Hotch Special: Hotch is a wonderfully affectionate cat who loves to cuddle and be close to his people. He enjoys lounging in sunny spots and being showered with attention. Despite his FIV status, Hotch is healthy and happy, and he's ready to share his love with a caring family.

FIV Information: FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) is a condition that affects a cat's immune system but is not contagious to humans or other animals outside of cat-to-cat contact. With proper care, many FIV-positive cats live happy, healthy lives. Hotch will need to be the only cat in the household or live with other FIV-positive cats to ensure his well-being.

Hotch's Ideal Home: Hotch is seeking a home where he can receive plenty of affection and enjoy a calm environment. He'll thrive in a loving household where he can be the center of attention and receive the care he needs.

Additional adoption info

*General Adoption Information: If you are interested in adopting an animal from our shelter, you will need to come to Prince Rupert to visit the animal and process the adoption here. Due to our remote location we cannot arrange for animals to be transferred to a shelter closer to you by request.

Please note that in many BC SPCA shelters potential adopters are required to bring in copies of their strata council by-laws or rental agreements in order to be approved for adopting. Please contact us at the shelter for any adoption requirements before visiting us to adopt so that you are correctly prepared to take your new family member home.

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

    Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

    Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

    Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

    1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

    2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

    3. Freedom from distress

    4. Freedom from discomfort

    5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
