My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Name: Rosie

Sex: Female

Estimated Age: About 9 years old

Best Guess for Breed: Schnoodle Mix

Weight: About 30 lbs

Lives With: Dogs, people, cats and kids - she’s great with everyone!

Housebroken? Rosie is housebroken!

Story: Rosie was rescued from a shelter in North Carolina and we are so happy to have her in a foster home in DC now. Rosie is a super sweetie that loves all people and gets along great with other dogs and puppies. She knows just how to get comfortable up on the couch with her humans, and will love to join you on walks and trots around the neighborhood. Rosie is just looking for someone to be her new best furend and we know that she will repay them with endless amounts of love and tail wags. Even though Rosie is an adult dog, she will need an adopter who is committed to setting her up for success by enrolling in obedience training and exercising her both mentally and physically. She will also need love, patience, and socialization in order to thrive!

What my foster says: Rosie is a sweet, gentle, happy girl looking for a forever home to live out her golden years. She loves to be around people and her tail is always wagging. Rosie is fully housetrained and knows basic commands, including "sit," and is very easy to leash walk. She is a quick learner and is very motivated by treats. Her favorite activities are sniffing around the neighborhood and going for car rides with her nose out the window. Rosie is not reactive to city noises outside, such as kids playing or cars/buses driving by. Once she gets a walk or playtime, she will settle in for several hours of deep sleep. Rosie has excellent house manners, and she would easily fit into a variety of homes. She would thrive with some playtime and lots of cuddles. She is currently fostered with another senior dog and enjoys his company.

The fee to adopt Rosie is $350. That covers the cost of all her vaccines, the collar she’s wearing, her transport to DC and her care in her foster home. She’s up to date on all age appropriate vaccines and already spayed.

If you think that Rosie might be your perfect match, apply today!
