Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rocco came from Tennessee and was rescued from a situation where he lived in a crate so small he could not lift his head.

But it did nothing to curb his love of life and people! Rocco is so playful and lots of fun to be with. He is a very energetic and enthusiastic young guy. For as tall and leggy as he is, he walks really nicely on a leash.

Rocco wants nothing more than to make you happy. A little training and he will be a great addition to any family. An active family would be a great fit for him since he loves to explore and go for walks!

He is very friendly and affectionate too, as you can see in the pictures. He will snuggle with you and slurp you with kisses. Rocco is believed to be a Black Lab and hound mix and around 50lbs. We do not know about other dogs cats or kids BUT we are very happy to do a meet and greet with you.

His adoption fee is $120.00 cash only please

We encourage the whole family to come and meet the potential new family member. We also highly encourage and may require any current dogs in the household come for a meet and greet.

Our hours are Friday through Tuesday, 10am to 3pm each day. Wednesdays 10am to 1pm. Closed Thursdays and most major holidays.

More about this shelter

The Geauga County Dog Shelter takes in stray dogs throughout Geauga County. By law we have to hold a dog three business days - or 72 hrs - before we are able to adopt them into new loving homes.

Every dog is vaccinated, heart worm tested, and spayed/neutered. All adoptions are on a first come, first to adopt basis. Adoption fees range from $120.00-$200.00. We accept cash only please.

This Shelter is not your typical shelter. This Shelter has the most amazing staff, volunteers and community. This Shelter truly gets to know each and every Visitor.

Excited is an understatement with every adoption. It jumps up and down and even cries a little when watching a former Visitor take that ride home.

We do a whole lot with very little. If you would like to know what special is, please come meet us during adoption hours. We would love to show you around.
