Meet Happy, an adult dog with a personality that truly lives up to her name. She's smart and energetic, always ready for a new adventure or a stimulating puzzle. She weighs 46 pounds and has many, many interests. She enjoys agility, car rides, running, fetch, tugging, toys, walks, water, chase, and wrestling and doesn't mind being by herself. She knows the sit, stay, come, no, down, and off commands. Her cuddly and friendly nature makes her a great companion, though she can be a bit shy initially. She loves attention of all kinds and sitting on a lap to be petted. Gentle and playful, Happy gets along well with other dogs and is well-behaved, making her a joy to be around. Her protective, calm demeanor shows her lovable and obedient side, which is complemented by her affectionate nature. She is house trained and knows how to ring a hanging bell when she needs to go out. Happy would be a wonderful addition to any home due to her unique blend of intelligence, energy, and affection. Pet Adoption Fees
CAP adoption fees include a variety of services - age-appropriate vaccinations, canine heartworm, and feline leukemia tests, spaying/neutering, deworming treatment, microchipping to name a few - the total value of which exceeds $450. These minimal adoption fees cover only part of each animal's stay at our shelter - please help us keep adoption fees low while maintaining the high quality of care for the animals in our charge by donating and/or volunteering.

CAP is proud to announce that through life-saving adoption and transfer programs and a lot of hard work, we have maintained a placement rate of over 93% for all homeless pets surrendered to our shelter in 2021. In 2021, CAP provided care for 10,260 animals; this includes animals surrendered by the public and transferred in from animal control agencies and rescue groups, animals already in the shelter and foster care program, feral cats trapped/neutered/returned and animals receiving vaccinations and other treatments in our low-cost vaccination clinic, The Cornelius Clinic.
