My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Momma Bloom has been a busy bee behind the scenes and is finally ready to find her forever home!
Daisie was seized in a cruelty case and came to the shelter with two 7 week old babies she was taking care of. We took one look at this very skinny momma pressing her body up against the chain link fence to get pets and her two baby blooms peering out from behind her, heartbroken knowing we couldn’t take them. Days later and still unable to get the blooms out of our head, we heard the shelter was full again. We knew we had to help, and while it was not easy, we did some magic maneuvering and luckily were able to say “Yes!” and save the three girls.
Fast forward to now, the baby blooms are off and doing their puppy things elsewhere, and mom finally had time to rest and let her body recoop in a safe space. Daisie has gained all the weight she is supposed to and is currently healing from her spay. ♥️
No matter what past Daisie came from, she has been nothing but 100% mushy, sweet and loveable. She has zero concept of personal space, and tries to crawl into your lap as much as you’ll let her, and she gets her way too with the gentle kindness she just exudes.
Daisie loves to play ball, and even enjoys some shallow water ball time, but otherwise she is happy to nap on her big cushy bed and chew a bone.
Daisie does great in the car, walks well on a leash and knows basic commands. She is estimated 3 years old, is 46lbs and might be part piglet based on all the snorts and grumbles she makes. She does not mind other dogs, but so far gets overwhelmed quickly if they are too “in her business” and she will tell them to leave her be. Mom has earned her right to want her space, but we are hopeful with time and distance away from the days of being a mom she may learn to be more open minded about her dog friends. Right now her favorite dogs are the ones who ignore her and let her nap!
Daisie is currently boarding, and if not an adopter we would be elated to find her a foster home to rest her little piggy head in. Every single person who meets her is immediately smitten, and we promise you will be too.
Adopt Momma Bloom, adopt happiness.

Additional adoption info

When you adopt a dog from Swamp Haven, you’re not just saving a life. You’re beginning a journey filled with love, loyalty and trust. Life can be busy and stressful. The companionship of a dog is a constant reminder to slow down and enjoy the little things. At Swamp Haven, our mission isn’t to just help down-on-their-luck dogs find their forever homes. Our mission is to create a lasting relationship with you and your family.
Adopt happiness. Our adoption process is unique in that we work with you every step of the way to ensure that we’re placing the right dog with the right family. First, chat with us about what you’re looking for in a dog and we will set up a time for you to meet the lucky pup. From there, fill out an application. Once reviewed we set up a time to bring your potential pup to your house for a home visit and trial week. We want to make sure it’s the right fit for both your family and the dog involved. We will be totally available during the trial week for any questions or concerns. The last step is to finalize the adoption. And then congrats, you’re a new member of the Swamp Haven family and your happy tail has just begun!

Our adoption fee is $350

More about this rescue

Swamp Haven is an animal rescue organization that takes down-on-their-luck dogs and nurtures them back to a healthy mental and physical state, so they can find their forever home. Our goal is simple. We save innocent dogs that have been overlooked by society and provide short-term care including vetting (vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip and heartworm and flea prevention) and training to learn how to walk politely on a leash, play in a pack and live calmly and lovingly in their new home.
