My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Every day we are impressed with Khloe’s temperament. She is so wonderfully adaptable. She is dog and kid friendly. She is crate and house trained. She knows basic commands. She is equally as ready to run and adventure as she is ready to couch potato with you. She has the most adorable kangaroo hops and a special skill of basically walking on two legs when she is searching for lizards in bushes and trees. Khloe is attentive and kind and did we mention she takes her nighttime skin routine seriously?
Khloe even has this wonderful skill of “reading the room.” If a dog friend needs some space or doesn’t want to play she is as respectful as can be, but if a dog wants to run amuck and roll and play she is absolutely pumped to join in.
Khloe has been in three different foster homes and not only did she take the change like a champ each time and settle right into each foster homes routine with the household and resident dogs with ease but EVERY family said she was one of the sweetest and easiest dogs to hang out with.
Khloe will be getting her last two injections for heartworms this week. ❤️‍ She will also be looking for another temp foster over the Christmas holiday. (The reality is it’s tough to keep dogs in foster homes over the holidays because so many people travel) We would LOVE for all the bouncing around for Khloe to stop, even though she is so good at handling anything thrown at her. PLEASE SHARE! And help us find Khloe her forever home for Christmas.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

When you adopt a dog from Swamp Haven, you’re not just saving a life. You’re beginning a journey filled with love, loyalty and trust. Life can be busy and stressful. The companionship of a dog is a constant reminder to slow down and enjoy the little things. At Swamp Haven, our mission isn’t to just help down-on-their-luck dogs find their forever homes. Our mission is to create a lasting relationship with you and your family.
Adopt happiness. Our adoption process is unique in that we work with you every step of the way to ensure that we’re placing the right dog with the right family. First, chat with us about what you’re looking for in a dog and we will set up a time for you to meet the lucky pup. From there, fill out an application. Once reviewed we set up a time to bring your potential pup to your house for a home visit and trial week. We want to make sure it’s the right fit for both your family and the dog involved. We will be totally available during the trial week for any questions or concerns. The last step is to finalize the adoption. And then congrats, you’re a new member of the Swamp Haven family and your happy tail has just begun!

Our adoption fee is $350

More about this rescue

Swamp Haven is an animal rescue organization that takes down-on-their-luck dogs and nurtures them back to a healthy mental and physical state, so they can find their forever home. Our goal is simple. We save innocent dogs that have been overlooked by society and provide short-term care including vetting (vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip and heartworm and flea prevention) and training to learn how to walk politely on a leash, play in a pack and live calmly and lovingly in their new home.
