My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

It’s YAMMIES!
We do lots in our adoption process to match dogs with their people, and people with their dogs. That’s why we feel so strongly about offering a trial week as well before adoption is finalized. But sometimes a puppy grows and grows and we learn more about their personality and it just isn’t a good match. If that happens we ALWAYS take the dog back into our care cause ⭐️ Once a Swampie, always a Swampie. ⭐️
With that being said, sadly Yams is back up for adoption, BUT we are very excited to find him the exact right home he deserves!
Yams was BORN in my home, and Chelsea and I got to watch him grow up into this big derpy hound boy, so we have big feelings about our Yammies. Yams is 55lbs and JUST hit six months old. He is a big boy, and will get bigger, and it’s easy to forget that he is still a puppy, going through all the things puppies go through as they learn and grow.
Yams is dog and cat friendly. He knows all the basics, is potty trained, and listens well. He LOVES other dogs, like so so much, and that’s about the only time he turns his houndy ears off (damn teenagers )
Yams is the perfect mix of sweet and silly, and when he sits down he likes to have his booty touching some part of you. Yams ideal home would have another dog to play with, or someone who wants to adventure, as Yams is an active guy who likes to be right where the action is - but who doesn’t want a bestie who is down for literally anything?!
Check out our story for more of Yammies being Yammies, and reach out here or at 904-392-3416 if you think Yams is your Jam!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

When you adopt a dog from Swamp Haven, you’re not just saving a life. You’re beginning a journey filled with love, loyalty and trust. Life can be busy and stressful. The companionship of a dog is a constant reminder to slow down and enjoy the little things. At Swamp Haven, our mission isn’t to just help down-on-their-luck dogs find their forever homes. Our mission is to create a lasting relationship with you and your family.
Adopt happiness. Our adoption process is unique in that we work with you every step of the way to ensure that we’re placing the right dog with the right family. First, chat with us about what you’re looking for in a dog and we will set up a time for you to meet the lucky pup. From there, fill out an application. Once reviewed we set up a time to bring your potential pup to your house for a home visit and trial week. We want to make sure it’s the right fit for both your family and the dog involved. We will be totally available during the trial week for any questions or concerns. The last step is to finalize the adoption. And then congrats, you’re a new member of the Swamp Haven family and your happy tail has just begun!

Our adoption fee is $350

More about this rescue

Swamp Haven is an animal rescue organization that takes down-on-their-luck dogs and nurtures them back to a healthy mental and physical state, so they can find their forever home. Our goal is simple. We save innocent dogs that have been overlooked by society and provide short-term care including vetting (vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip and heartworm and flea prevention) and training to learn how to walk politely on a leash, play in a pack and live calmly and lovingly in their new home.
