My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing Plato: A distinguished gentleman with a penchant for philosophical pursuits seeking discerning human companionship. This independent thinker enjoys his solitude and will happily entertain himself for hours. Like his namesake, Plato appreciates a good intellectual challenge, often found observing the world with a thoughtful expression. While he enjoys his quiet time, he also has a playful side, chasing his favorite toy mouse with surprising enthusiasm.
He may be a bit shy at first, but you'll know you've won him over when he curls up near you, ready for a few pets. He's fascinated by birds, whether they're flitting around outside or on TV. And when it's time to eat, Plato becomes quite vocal, making sure you don't forget one step in preparing his plate!
Plato would thrive in any household where he can observe the world at his own pace. He'd be perfect for someone who enjoys a peaceful atmosphere and a cat with a unique personality. If you're seeking a feline philosopher, Plato is waiting!

More about this rescue

Paws and Claws Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in the Chicagoland area dedicated to preventing, and alleviating the suffering caused by abuse, neglect, and overpopulation. We help dogs and cats mentally and physically heal, and give them a chance to find love, a full life, and a forever home.

Our focus is on rescuing orphaned neonatal kittens, nursing kittens with their feral mothers, under-socialized cats, and dogs who have been at Chicago Animal Care and Control for too long. We see ourselves as the crossing guards for these vulnerable animals, helping them get from their past, whether that be from a traumatic home, a kennel, or a euthanasia list, to a safe and kind human who will love them.
