My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Babbitty Rabbitty! B.R. is a young, male rabbit who is looking for a new home. He is a chill bunny who is ready for his forever home. Even in the busy shelter he doesn't mind getting pets, so we imagine he will really enjoy being petted in a home where he is comfy. B.R. isn't the biggest fan of being held (which is common for rabbits) but does not bite when being briefly and gently handled. To our knowledge, he has not lived with other rabbits yet. He is currently doing well using a litter box. Rabbits require a constant source to water and Timothy or Orchard hay, and a limited amount of rabbit pellets and fresh produce (B.R. loves Romaine lettuce). They also need pens larger than what typical pet stores sell. Instead of hutches or small cages, foldable x-pens with a soft blanket on the floor (on top of an absorbent toddler mat) work well. GHHS adopts out bunnies to be indoor pets only. Check out https://huntsvillehouserabbits.com/bunny-care for lots of info about rabbit care and supplies recommendations. At this time, Babbitty Rabbitty is awaiting his neuter appointment, so he can only be adopted within Madison County, AL. After his neuter, he will be available outside the county.

Additional adoption info

Adopters must be at least 19 years old.

If you rent, you must have permission from your landlord and pet fees must be paid in advance.

If adopting into a family, we require all members of the family to be in agreement about adopting. For families that already include another dog, we typically require a meet and greet; this may be hosted on the GHHS property, or at the potential adopter's home.

Some animals may require a home inspection.

Verification of current pet(s) vaccine/vet records.
