Hi! My name is Buddy! I love sticking my head in your space to force pets, toys, walks, treats, being next to my humans. I have a tendency to be a leaner and a shadow dog, I have a bit of energy when let out of the kennel (a walk or play session in the yard is a must). I am friendly, curious, energetic (but know when to calm down), a toy collector, a cuddle bug, an absolute sweetheart. I get along with people, med/large dogs (haven't met small yet), and kids. I would rather not be on slippery floors (I manage but panic if I slip) and I need some basic obedience, and a kennel is a good idea for when I'm left alone. My foster people say that I'm a really sweet boy and that he has opened up so much since coming to them and that he is going to make such a great addition to any home. Is that home YOURS?

GPA is an all-volunteer organization and we do our best to respond quickly to make the process smooth and efficient for adopters. When you apply you will receive confirmation within a matter of days, and will be assigned to an adoption representative to complete the process. Please note that we do not adopt to families with children under the age of 5.

More about this rescue

We are the Minnesota chapter of Greyhound Pets of America.

Greyhound Pets of America is a tax-exempt, non-profit corporation founded in 1987 for the purpose of finding homes for ex-racing greyhounds and educating the public on the suitability and availability of greyhounds as pets.

All of our greyhounds go into foster homes where they can acclimate to their new lives as retired racers. We also get a better idea of their personalities so we can make the best possible match with their new family.

We have found great success in matching the personalities of the greyhounds with the personalities of the new families. We test all our greyhounds to see if they can live with small animals and many of our greyhounds go on to live in families with other pets, including cats.

Greyhound Pets of America - Minnesota is run entirely by volunteers who dedicate their time and talents to the cause of rescuing retired greyhounds. GPA-MN and our volunteers are committed to making sure all our greyhounds have a happy, safe and long life while in our care as well as after they find their forever homes.
