Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
*Special Needs* Brutus came to us at just only a couple of days old. He required around the clock care in his foster home being bottle fed every 2 hours. He sadly lost his buddy within the first week. As Brutus grew, he developed an especially nasally breathing pattern, but was healthy otherwise. At one point, he did develop a respiratory infection and was on medications. Since then, he underwent examination for nasal polyps, and nothing was found. He continues to have this nasally breathing, but it more or less does not effect him. Every so often, he will come down with an elevated respiratory rate and effort. He went through a trial of antiviral medication and antibiotics following a culture, but he is about the same. His doctors don't have a further plan for him at this time other than let him grow. Depending on how he is as an adult, he may benefit from a CT scan or possible scope (this is difficult due to his size). Brutus is looking for an adopter that can keep a close eye on him and provide him a loving home, with potential for vet visits more frequently than your average cat. He loves to play and snuggle to his foster humans. He is so deserving of an amazing home!

More about this rescue
Welcome to Love Me True Rescue. This rescue began out of my overwhelming love of animals. From injured birds to stray dogs, growing up I always felt compelled to save animals in need. While living up north, I had the opportunity to volunteer at a local shelter. I met many sweet animals who ended up being euthanized for lack of space or for being deemed "unadoptable". One dog in particular who broke my heart, was Penny. She was a boxer mix and one of the sweetest dogs I have ever met. After being returned to the shelter twice for fear aggression she was put to sleep. I wasn't able to save her life, but I knew this was my calling, and I vowed to save others like my Penny. By the grace of God (and wonderful donors and volunteers) I have been able to start this rescue, knowing I have been equipped to help these homeless and unwanted cats. This rescue's mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and find safe forever homes for kittens and cats who would be euthanized or abandoned. I thank you for your support and love. This is for you, Penny!
God Bless,
Lisa Di Donato
