My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Wille and his bonded littermate Able were rescued with their mom from a catering warehouse in Houston, TX. They are ready for their loving forever home! They were rescued at 7 weeks old, however, due to malnourishment, their body condition was at about 4 weeks at that time. Their mom is pretty petite, so I'm not sure how big they will end up. They are healthy, energetic, and happy boys now! I've included a picture of them with their mom, so you can see what she looks like.

Willie & Able have been fostered with other cats and 3 large dogs. They are very playful and super curious. I've been able to trim their nails by myself, so they're getting used to their feet being touched. I've also been getting them used to having their bellies rubbed, as for cats, that's normally a no-touch zone. Their favorite toys are bell balls, shaky mice, and fishing pole teaser toys. They will run away with the teaser toys, it cracks me up. Another favorite game is "Monster under the Covers," where I move my feet under the comforter and they get me. Since they are very active boys, they will need a home with space to run and play (indoors only). They also love their cat tree, and they sleep on it a lot at night since it's right next to my bed.

Willie is a little more independent than Able. Able loves to follow me everywhere and loves for me to give him a ride on my back and walk around the house. They both follow me into the bathroom (they were quarantined there when I first brought them home, so it's their safe space) and love to hang out while I shower or brush my teeth, etc. They will need a safe room like that when they are first brought into their new home - a safe, smaller, separate room where they can adjust to the change. I can help you through that process. We will require a video meeting during the adoption process, and I can provide tips if you need them.

Able is more of a lap cat than Willie, but they both climb up on my work chair with me or get on my desk. They will both come up on the couch with me, but not necessarily on me. I feel that once they're in a home where the attention is only or mostly on them (there are several other animals here), they will seek attention from their people even more. They are trained to come running full speed to the sound of a Churu packet!! This will be your fastest way to bond with them. All I have to do is shake the tube, and they come barreling through the room! Abel is my number one meal investigator. He likes to check out what I'm eating all the time. They both love sitting on my side window ledge and watching the birds at the feeder outside.

Since I have dogs constantly shuffling in and out of the back door, they've become very curious about the back door, so you have to be super careful around doors, so they don't run out. Their curiosity also takes them into cabinets, closets, front-loading laundry machines, and the dishwasher. So you have to be very mindful and careful not to allow them to get trapped in any of those places.

They look very similar. Willie has a darker brown head and a little bit of a wider, darker nose. Willie has some stripes on the lower part of his belly that form a smiley face!

They are lovely boys. They're super sweet, and they've come a long way since they had such a rough start in life. Their mom was just shy of a year old when she had them. She's very sweet, but she had been living on the street, so she had gone into "survival" mode and wouldn't let anyone touch her. Once she was trapped, she came out of the trap purring and rubbing up against my legs.

They are both neutered, up-to-date on shots, and microchipped. Their mom tested negative on the combo test, so they should be good on that, too. I adore them so much, and they're ready for their forever home where they will get all the attention and love they deserve! Please keep in mind, they are only 6 months old and cats live to around 20. So please be ready to make a 20-year commitment.

They are currently being fostered in Austin, TX. We have an airline employee who will be flying to Seattle on Sept. 23 (at the earliest), so if we transport that day, you'd need to meet them at the airport during the morning or day. We could arrange another day based on the transporter's schedule.

Additional adoption info

We are based in Houston with connections getting them to Seattle. We made these connections based on the fact it is virtually impossible to find good homes in the Houston area. We will not be able to do one day adoptions (it could take up to a few weeks to coordinate everything), but our partners and friends in your area will help make things happen.

More about this rescue

We are a volunteer and foster based rescue group focusing on helping animals in Houston, Texas and the surrounding areas. We primarily help those that contact us with strays/ pets they want to surrender, and animals from Harris County Animal Shelter. Our focus is to get the animals as healthy as possible and to thoroughly analyze their temperament to try our best to find a permanent forever home for them. We always look for the best fit possible for the animals and the adopters.
