My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Animal Profile: Raphael is an estimated 1 year old 65 lb neutered male shepherd mix who was a stray intake to the overcrowded San Bernardino city shelter. There he was kennelled with six other dogs! We have partnered with ARF to help him and his kennelmates. Raphael temp tested fantastically with dogs and people and was social and friendly playgroups. We will share more info as we get to know him in foster care.

Foster Update: Raphi is such a sweet cuddly boy. He definitely wants to please and is super smart! He has quickly learned basic commands and knows sit, down, stay, come, and place. Raphi is also crate trained and potty trained. He loves to play with other dogs and would do well with another canine companion in his home or as an only dog with an active family. He loves people and would really like to curl up in your lap if only he could fit! Raphi doesn't live with kids, but has been really great meeting them so far and would be fine with dog savvy kids. He is a strong boy who demonstrates some prey drive for squirrels and little critters outside so does best with a savvy leash handler, but he walks well with loose leash in most circumstances. Rapheal will be a great adventure companion for a lucky PNW family!

Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, negative heartworm test if over 6 months, and health  certificate. Your donation may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization.
