Dog's Name: Sirius (SIR0924ALAMD)
Estimated Breed: Beagle / Foxhound mix
Approximate Age: 8 months
Approximate Weight: 30 LBS
Currently Living at: Foster
Adoption Fee: $400
DOG'S DESCRIPTION: Hey there everyone! My name is Sirius! I have been lucky enough to land in a foster home, and I'll tell you what - it's the best ever! I absolutely love my doggie siblings, and the humans too! Here's what my foster Dad says about me: "Sirius is a very sweet little gentleman. So energetic and playful (he seems to love tug of war with the ropes). He also has been getting along wonderfully with our 3 cats. He just pretty much acknowledges them and watches them but has not barked or gone after any of them. The one cat that wants to play with him, he just sniffs and then goes about his business. He seems pretty good about going potty outside. Every time he has had to go (when outside of the crate) he just looks at me and walks to the door and picks up his leash, which is adorable. He's been pretty good on the leash and hasn't pulled too much. He's just a happy little pup and he LOVES going outside for walks! I think he would be a great family dog." Sirius is a very smart and sweet boy. Sirius is looking for an active home where he can share his love and wet nose kisses for many years to come. Submit an application today and change this sweet boy's life forever!
Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.
Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (at partner vet if not fixed before adoption), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets.
