MISS SERENA NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!

Come meet Miss Serena and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (01/05/25) from 12-3 pm at the PetSmart in Alexandria, VA (3351 Richmond Highway, Alexandria, VA 22305)!

Name:   Miss Serena       Best Guess for Breed:   Lab mix

Best Guess for Age: 2.5 years as of January 2025      SEX:   Female

Estimated Weight:  51 lbs

Gets Along With:    Other dogs!  Although Miss Serena has not lived with children, she has done well with those kids she has met. Given what we have observed so far, however, we think she would do well in a home with kids. We haven't seen her with cats but she can be tested if you have them.

Currently Living at:   DC area foster home.

Miss Serena is Looking For:  A forever home! Miss Serena is looking for a family to explore, go on long sniffy walks with, and dedicate time to her training and socialization. She is a lovely girl that lived with a family for her first two years. She does well in her crate and is a great house guest!

What My Foster Says About Me: She has lived with other dogs, but is also happy to be on her own. Miss Serena can be cautious of new doggy friends at first, but loves to play once she warms up! She absolutely loves humans, and is so excited to see you again if you have been away for a time. Miss Serena is a stellar housemate, and she easily goes into her crate with a bedtime treat and sleeps soundly throughout the night.

She loves to cuddle, but respects your space when it is not cuddle time, snoozing throughout the day or playing with a squeaky toy. She knows how to sit and is working on lay down, wait/stay, and move back. Miss Serena is very treat motivated - making training a fun and engaging process. She loves exploring on walks, and is still learning leash manners, but is a quick and motivated student!

Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.

TO ADOPT:   The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online bit.ly/adoptaluckydog

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

The adoption process begins when you submit an adoption application either online or at an adoption event. The individual responsible for the dog you are interested in adopting - a position we call the “adoption coordinator” - will then set up a time to discuss your application over the telephone. The adoption coordinator will check your vet reference to make sure all current and past pets were kept up-to-date with their shots and medical care. The adoption coordinator will also set up a home visit with one of our trained volunteers. That individual will come to your home to ensure that it is a safe environment, to confirm that everyone in the home is on board with adopting a dog, and to discuss any other questions you may have about dog adoption!

Go meet their pets

Our adoption events are held each weekend. A schedule of times and locations can be found at www.luckydoganimalrescue.org.
