Meet Harriet!
Harriet arrived with us when she was only 5 weeks old. She, and her mom and siblings, were rescued from an overcrowded animal control shelter - no place for a little family. Mom Libby, a little blond chihuahua, did a great job taking care of her babies but developed mastitis shortly after arrival and is now separated from her pups. The pups are now 7 weeks old and almost ready to go to their forever homes.
Libby's pups are tiny babies. We're not quite sure who their dad was but we think he was probably another smallish dog. This means that the puppies will grow to be small adults, perhaps no more than 15 lbs. They are currently around 3-4 lbs each.
Puppies this young and small are fragile. For this reason we would like to place them only with families with older children (over 8 years old). Another small dog in the home will be great.
The pups have received their first puppy vaccination, microchip and deworming. They will be spayed/neutered between 8-12 months of age at our cost (this is built into the adoption contract). Applications can be submitted via savinggreatanimals.org. Adoption fee is $525
