My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Raven is a sweet gentleman looking for his new furever home. He is a very tolerant and gentle soul, he loves attention and is super sweet.

We have no history on his previous lifestyle, but came in as a stray with a bad flea allergy. Therefore, we believe Raven would be well suited for an indoor only home to limit his exposure to fleas in the environment, and should remain on regular flea treatments to be his most comfortable self.

Raven did spend a couple weeks in a foster home, and we found out that he would prefer to live in an adult only home without other animals. His love of outdoors makes it difficult to want to stay inside, so Raven is looking for a home with access to a large catio to satisfy his cravings for his old outside life.

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
