My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hey there Delilah… You may now have the song stuck in your head but all I have is this sweet girls face stuck in mine. A gentle cutie who adores people, is a toy-lover, gentle and in general, so loving. The true gold star with this girl is all of the amazing skills that come pre-loaded thanks to her foster family. Estimated to be about 2.5 years old Delilah has spent her waiting-days in a loving foster home which has gave her such an amazing head start. Regular walks mean she has great basic leash skills, living with other dogs means she is dog-friendly, and a dedicated family mean she is house trained, and has great house-manners.

If you want to know more, take a few minutes to watch her peaceful ease and cuteness in action, then come back and read more, but by then you will likely be in love!

Delilah knows a few basic commands, but she is smart and attentive so continued training or learning a couple fun party tricks will be a whole lot of fun. Given how friendly she is I can imagine her bopping around the yard during casual get-togethers at your house making everyone smile and quickly becoming a favorite among your friend. Of course, in rescue, age and breed are simply observations, never guarantees, but Delilah sure has some cute lab/collie features with an attentive, friendly personality.

Delilah was introduced to a variety of dogs and she was calm and polite with them all. Her energy is more of a companion dog, she enjoys their company but isn’t a run/chase/fetch girl from what we saw. What truly fills up her love tank is love and connection with people. She adores people and is a friend from the start, melting into you and giving you what can only be described as puppy-eyes.

Delilah has apartment/condo potential but a yard for lounging in the sun would be just as great!would love a yard for bouncing around and playing with his toys. At 52 lbs she is at her full-grown size, a perfect medium size dog! An ideal home can look like a lot of things with Delilah but overall she would thrive in a calm home, adding to a peaceful home. Hectic and busy isn’t for her. When we introduced Delilah to our house cat she was incredibly respectful and although curious, never was pushy, overly excited, or interested in chasing the cat as he jumped onto the counter. Delilah is considered cat-tolerant and from what we saw, could live peacefully with a feline friend.

If you are looking for a walking partner, Delilah has got that down to! She has great basic leash skills with an easy pace. Her attentive nature to people and intelligence will likely translate into an obedient, loving and loyal family pet.

If you have any questions about Delilah or would like us to test her for a specific setting or detail, please be in touch! We can make most anything happen to ensure she is the correct fit for you and your life!

Why adopt from Three Little Pitties?

The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it!

Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be!

It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks:

• 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.)
• A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week)
• One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan
• 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan
• Coupons for a fun visit to Petco
• Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!

We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes.
