My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Swift! Swift is a young Coonhound/Lab Retriever mix, searching for his forever home.

While he can be a bit on the shy side, Swift is a lively and energetic pup who is ready for an adventure! His personality makes him more reserved, but given time to adjust to a new environment, Swift will be happy to run, jump, and explore. He is eager to learn new tricks and games. He is at the age where training and routine are critical, so he needs the consistency, patience and love of his new guardian to show him the ways of developing into a mature and fulfilled adult dog. Adopters are encouraged to attend basic puppy obedience classes, but the basics are a must - leash training, socializing with people and other dogs, and, of course, house training.
Swift won't be a puppy forever, and as he grows, there are some important things to keep in mind about his breed. Swift is presumed to be a Coonhound/Lab Retrievermix, however we cannot guarantee this is 100% accurate without a DNA test.
Coonhounds are a high energy breed and need a lot of exercise to stay healthy and happy. The breed has a very strong prey drive, so recall training would be important to allow Swift off leash. Labs are also quite high energy, so a perfect home would be a very active home with lots of outdoor activity!

If you're looking for a fun-loving, rambunctious friend to keep you on your toes, Swift is the perfect match! Please fill out an application and submit it to the Shuswap branch!
